Aww! They definitely ARE cute!
Patty do you have this design without the attached 'horn". I saw pics. of your owls they are the cutest things..especially Cecil :) but then I am biased to owls lol
Thanks Ann, Maya, Jo and Anna! The "imaginary" in my feathered friends definitely takes a more subtle track than in your face imaginary, but they definitely don't exist anywhere I know of. :) Anna, I love that this is one of those fabrics you just have to have, my stash is full of fabrics like that... just waiting for the right project! I will be making this available for sale just as soon as I get my new test swatches in.
You will put this design up for sale, right? I'm not a good sewer and I'm not sure what I'd use it for but I HAVE to make something out of this eventually.
Really beautiful Patty, your cute birdies are so adorable! Wonderfully illustrated and coloured ....but of course!! And unless there is some kind of genetic modification going on i don't know about....completely imaginary!!
That is so cute!! It might look cute in a girls nursery :)
Patty you certainly got that 'thing' that sets your work apart. This so beautiful, though not sure if I would describe it as 'imaginary animal"!!!
Thanks everyone! I've been wanting to put chickadees on fabric for awhile, they're so small and round... as my brother likes to call them, eggs with legs. Thanks Victoria, it's actually been a refreshing break to work on something other than the MM line, something silly that doesn't have to have mass appeal! Tallulah, that's hilarious, I love that you got distracted by your own story! Thank you Amy, Tracey, Anna, Janet, Rachel, Kelly, Kez and Kelly for your lovely comments, I love reading them all!! :D
This is so beautiful and elegant, with a wonderful surprise. I love surprising fabrics. I don't know how you find the time with the MM designing and all. I can hardly wait to see your girl's collection. <p>Tallulahdahling, that is so funny, especially the part about the acne.
Almost trompe l'oeil, it appears to be a straightforward floral with sweet birds at first glance, but packs a hidden surprise!
Oh, uh, I meant to say that this is a wonderful design, and it really does fool the eye at first. The surprise is a nice addition to the adorability. (Sorry, I got distracted at first by my own adventures.)
Ah, yes, the uni-chicka-pecker. I used to have hours of fun luring them with suet and seed, and then sticking a raisin on their little horn while they were chowing down. Ho-ho-ho, was it funny to watch the mocking bird chase those little cuties to get those raisins! It was a riot for a little while, that is, until the unis realized who it was under the dark glasses and pimp hat, running with the raisin bag. Most people think I used to have acne...
this is awesome patty! love the colors and layers :D
oh, and I love the colors and the blossoms too. ;o)
ha ha ha! I have chickadees at my house. I will never look at them the same!
Oh Patty you spoil us with your beautiful designs! I'm so in love with this.. the colours and illustration are perfect!
Very cute critters and lovely composition!
Rhonda, I'm going to have you start writing my descriptions! Thanks guys, I'm glad the title brings out your inner child, Cean. Drea, I have some restless morning stories having to do with loud birds myself, I like to think maybe these little uni-chicka-peckers could be personal guardians of peace and quite in the wee hours of the morning!
I'm pretty sure these are the birds that woke me up every morning for a few weeks this spring! Ta-Tap, Ta-Tap, Ta-Tap-Tap-Tap -- Arrrrrgh!!! My husband waved me off like I was crazy until he found the gaping hole in our bedroom window sill they were about to nest in! Don't be fooled, they may look cute, but they're ruthless!!! Even though I still harbor bad feelings about this event, this is absolutely beautiful, Patty!:)
I don't wanna make one of those little cute birdies... angry :P
Love the fact that is a surprising design when looked in detail and it's an elegant design, love it! :)
Haha!! I love it!!
bwwwhahhaaa this is fantastic!! :D
Cats beware! This makes me think of the mocking bird that used to attack and chase my cat. Can you imagine getting dive-bombed by one of these?
This is a charming design that is likely to fool the eyes of any casual observers into believing that they are actually looking at the common, garden variety of chickadee! Instead, they are getting a rare glimpse of the more elusive sub-species of Uni-chicka- Pecker! These little dears have added an evolutionary edge to their arsenal of survival skills! Thus, they are armed and dangerous to any marauding predator that may be observed lurking in their vicinity! These are likely to get a sharp prod to the nether regions!
Beautifully illustrated. The uni-chicka-pecker is very cute!
Love the crazines, love the illustrations, love the title (my inner 13 year old is giggling).
Yay for absurdity! Thanks Samarra, Vo, Siya, Jillian and Sharon!
colours.... tick! funny... tick! gorgeous... tick! :) xxx
They are so adorable! I agree, lovely colors too :)
This is absolutely wonderful!
And another high five from me. Fab entry. Great work.
Hahaha! Absurdly beautiful all in one! And a great color palette once again. High five, Patty!
