of Norse mythology, starting amid it's branches
Deep in the cold, cold north grows the world tree, Yggdrasil. This giant yew connects all the worlds of Norse mythology, starting amid it's branches with Asgard, home of the godly Aesir. Mighty Odin, lovely Freya, Powerful Thor and good Iduna walk before Valhalla, the mead hall of the gods, and reward to the valiant slain, chosen and brought by the Valkyries to feast eternally in it's golden halls. The rainbow bridge Bifrost spans the sky down to Jotunheim, the place of giants, and Midgard, home of man. Under the mighty trunk of Yggdrasil live the dwarves, miners and master smiths, and coiling restlessly amid the roots is the Midgard serpent, awaiting the day when he would be free of his subterranean prison.
