Rin-Rin renacuajo is one of the most famous Colombian popular poems written by the great Rafael Pombo. At first I thought about using some of our folk tales, but they are all very creepy and sad so then I thought: why not use one of Pombo's great stories? He is one of the greatest Colombian poets, and his stories are often filled with symbolisms and teachings for children and adults. Rin-Rin Renacuajo is a great example of this, and we all grew up reading, and playing with his characters. The tadpole represents the "stereotype of the self-assured youth" that goes around without believing he's powerful, independent and know-it-all. This attitude makes him act without thinking on the consequences his actions might have. I didn't pretend to illustrate the whole story, but just it's characters as kids in costume ready to participate on a play :-) * * * Rin-Rin Renacuajo by Rafael Pombo * * * El hijo de rana, Rinrín renacuajo
Visitemos juntos a doña ratona
Y habrá francachela y habrá comilona. // ***NEWBORN CAPS READY-TO-SEW KIT***
