Love it, so clever!
thank you cean, whatta compliment!!
This is so super awesome, I can't believe it. You have perfectly captured the agony and the ecstasy of the eighties with this amazingly choreographed bedlam of a pattern. One of my favorites from this mammoth contest for sure!
It is time travel, love that Anja! Thank you :)
I am keeping my tape-recorder like a little treasure. I still have some tapes where I have previously recorded the music directly from the radio. It's always like a little time travel. Great design, Rachel!
Thank you Grace, Kezia, and Phoebe for your lovely comments!
Love this.. takes me back to the old days and trying to wind the tape back in with a pencil!
you always come up w/ very original & interesting designs!
thank you Kelly, I think they sorted it out :)
I took a screen shot of it, so hopefully that will convince them. Sending that to them now... as I'm humming "please, please tell me now..." ;o)
thank you isabella! my husband's tape collection is our guilty pleasure, and if you here a car with Phil Collin's playing, it may just be me!
LOL I don't have to think back far to remember those days. I have a tape sitting on my desk right now that looks rather like this. I won't toss it out but I just can't seem to find the motivation to painstakingly wind it back up while hoping it will still play. Great design, Rachel!
thank you ladies! yeah i'm not loving the entry view, and i contacted them a few days ago about it, but they couldn't see what the problem was, so i guess what you are seeing and what I am (and everyone else) seeing is different from what they are seeing unfortunately. i hope it can be remedied!!
ha ha! excellent! I remember those days too, and Duran Duran even!
but what happened to the entry in the contest? it looks awful - has grey in it - ugh - I'll contact them but you better too!
Great idea and execution - love it!
thank you Francine, nicest compliment ever!!
This is the hippest fabric design ever! EVER!
thank you nadja!
excellent c'est si drôle et parfaitement réalisé
i think we just crossed posted barbara! thanks for the comment :) you've got yourself a lovely design for this contest.
Wonderful design! It makes me appreciate the way technology moves on.
Thank you jo and vo....(and mo ;) I knew I could rely on you awesome gals to go back in time with me. The beauty and frustration of tapes! I wonder how many sad ones there are sitting in the landfills right now? (edited for pathetic grammar)
Bwhahaha, I can remember the fluttering tape as one tossed the cassette out with windown.
Yeah proper fantastic retro coolness! I was queen of the cassette tapes, I still have 2 carrier bags full of them stashed under my bed...i don't have a cassette player tho, so they are utterly useless but can't throw them out for sentimental reasons hahahaa!! I particularly loved the way after many plays they would stretch and the music would sound all drony and slowed down hahaa! Love this design Rachel, the twisty tape getting all tangled is truly teriffic!
and rhonda, it's so true....the best ones seem to have a knack for getting trashed.
Thank you ladies! What's a cassette tape.....just go back to Duran Duran and Hall and Oates.....are you there yet? Are your jean's tight rolled so tight they leave marks in your skin? Is your hair flammable? Yeah, you know cassette tapes. :D
cl cl CLUNKk k k wwwwhiZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ grrrrr CRUNCH cccLUNkK. oh, how I miss tapes.
Oooooh, love it! Um, what's a cassette tape? ;P
thank you patty :) we have a car that still plays tapes, in fact i'm pretty sure that's one thing that works well for the car.
haha, this is awesome! I have a box of broken tapes in my closet that I just can't bring myself to throw out. If I ever get around to mending them there probably won't be any cassette players left to play them on!
Thank you everyone, for your very sweet comments!
Great design! Imaginative, youthful, pretty with an edge
Cassette tapes are cool looking. What a fun fabric design!
Ahh Rachel, you have captured my youth! Hours spent with a biro winding the tape back into the cassette, brilliant work - I shall be feeling nostalgic all day.
totally cool. awesome idea. LOVE!
This is an amazing network of linked lines, Rachel! I am sure that there will be many people who can relate to the tangled tape story. The children at our place were also quite adept at pulling tapes out of the cassettes, then being completely unable to rewind them. Somehow it always seemed to happen to the special "keeper" tapes!
Love it Rachel! Very cool, both subject and design! bringing back memories
