This is so beautiful!
Thank you very much for the fabulous, heart-warming comment, Amy!
Oh Rhonda, this is beautiful! The colors are just lovely and when you look at it as a fat quarter or a yard of fabric, the design has this really neato diagonal movement to it...fantastic!!!!
Thank you very much Katherine, Patricia and Kristie! I really appreciate your positive comments about my design. Patricia, reading poetry is always a good way to nudge artist's block aside! I love the poetry by William Blake and his "Auguries of Innocence" is particularly inspiring. Even though it was many years ago that I painted the picture, I can still remember "seeing" the images when I read the poem and really wanting to express my vision as a painting.

Thank you for adding to my courage to make a painting for fabric. I'm inspired by your reference to William Blake--what a great idea for artist's block!

Love the design and the title for the design. There is a gentle upward swooping feel to the design.
Thank you, Sue Ellen! I somehow missed replying to your comment earlier. By the way, this particular William Blake poem is still one of my all-time favourites - it is very inspiring!:-)

Thank you so much for the awesome comment, poetryqn!
Wow! The colors, the dimensionality, the gorgeous flow of the repeat - SO many things to love about this fabric. I love the way your organized that repeat - I think that's one of the toughest challenges in translating a painting to fabric. Nice job!
Thank you for the great comment, Cean! I hope you enjoyed reading the poem.
This is so lovely, Rhonda, and your seamless repeat is perfection! The colors are so vibrant and your paint strokes give wonderful movement to the image. I'm going to go read the poem right now!
Thank you very much everyone for all of the marvelous comments! I'm overwhelmed by your response and am so glad you like my work. This poem, and the painting that it inspired me to paint, hold special memories for me of another time and place. When the theme of "Poetry" was announced, I knew immediately what my design would be!
wow, this is awesome! I love it - it flows right back into itself!
Just wonderful, Rhonda, very vivid and full of emotion.
What a wonderful painting the repeat great
Absolutely fantastic Rhonda!....This is a glorious representation of a wonderful poem. I love poetry and had a hard time deciding which poem to pick - as it turned out i had no time to do any! but i was torn between this, The Raven or the Lady of Shalot. Blake is possibly my favourite poet but I was wondering where on earth to begin haha! I see you were way ahead of me and began and finished long ago!! A marvellous painting, and such a wonderful repeat!
Well done and I love how well the repeat works with something you painted in 1971, with not having in mind you'd use it for some fabric 40 years later :)
Wow! This is a strikingly beautiful design Rhonda.. you can almost smell the oil paint!
Wow this is really cool.
Thank you Lucinda! Your comment is much appreciated!
The repeat is really nice.
Thank you Tracy, Miriam and Jillian. I am thrilled by your awesome comments!

beautiful! I love how at first glance it seems like an abstract design, but on closer inspection you can pick out images.
Thank you Carina for your sweet words! We must have both been posting at the same time!

wow, not only it's a wonderful painting, but, you rock making repeats!! :D wonderful design :)
I love painted designs on fabric. This has such warmth!
The colors are so rich and the shifts in tone make for great depth. Looks third dimensional in parts! Great job!

Your fantastic oil paintings translate brilliantly into fabric designs, Rhonda. This one is totally awesome. More on why when I'm not propping my drooping eyelids open with toothpicks...
