Lactated Food was the proper name of a company that made canned milk products among other things, to feed to babies in order to fatten them up.
This scanned image was one of many trading card advertisements they circulated during the 1890's.
Exactly what was in the cans of lactated food, I don't know. I could find an article in the September 1894 issue of Good Housekeeping, suggesting that feeding babies Lactated Food (along with, not instead of breast milk) was a cure for lack of chubbiness. As for plumpening up invalids? Yum, yum. Drink this down granny.
