green. It is all here in this fascinating diagonal.
The diagonal lines are formed by the beaks of an abstract bird drawing. As a matter of fact, you may not even interpret this as a bird drawing. I have thought of it in this way for so long, it is hard for me to see anything else! Yet it did not begin as a bird drawing. Rather, I was simply practicing a style of meditative drawing referred to as ®. I begin with nothing in particular in mind, and just focus on repeating some repetitive element. I follow the creative urge as it arises and, voilá - sometimes there is that magic moment when something like this appears. I find the whole process absolutely fascinating. * * * This version of Birds of a Feather is most closely related to the original painting which inspired it. You may view the painting here: http://mary-wykes.pixels.com/featured/morning-has-broken-mary-wykes.html - Several years ago the painting won an Honorable Mention in a juried international show sponsored by the Society of Watercolor Artists of Fort Worth, Texas. * * * Primarily, I see this design used for tote bags, upholstery and drapes. I can also see it used for sporty clothing. * * * If you need it in another size, just send me a message through the link in the left hand column. * * * Happy sewing! * * * copyright Mary K Wykes 4-1-16
