Hackberry.
© Carmen Alana Tibbets Hackberry is a large shrub native to arid regions of North America. The berries, bright orange and about the size of the tip of your pinky finger, are used as a food source by birds and mammals. The species is also a host plant for the Leilia Hackberry and Snout butterflies. This fabric was designed for use as clothing for the Cactus Mouse Stuffed Toy Pattern (forthcoming). Note on fabric design: **This design was created for a small-scale sewing project and the repeat created by the branches is obvious from a distance on larger projects. ** This design was created for crafts and home sewing. For colorways and sizes more appropriate for sewing clothing, send a message via Spoonflower or email to catibbets@agosiaarts.com. My company, Agosia Arts, is committed to education about species native to southwestern North America. To this end, I create fabric-based artworks to encourage interest and appreciation of the region. Fabric designs are based on real species. The Cactus Mouse collections contain a stuffed fabric toy panel and coordinating fabrics featuring the food plants of this attractive, little rodent. You are permitted to sell items made with this fabric, but credit to Carmen Alana Tibbets as designer, or Agosia Arts, is appreciated.
