Studied sculpture & figure drawing.Tried many crafts + picture framing & art restoration. I started with SF when I thought that to sell an "original" purse, I had to have designed or made it all by hand myself! :o) Now I'm designing for it's own sake.

This one started as some round and oval shapes for a flower design, but the shapes looked like smooth stones, so that's what I made. Then I wondered what else to do with it, and thought of the rain contest; so I made up some fish, and added rain-drops. My internet service was down all the time I was doing it, so I had no way to search for reference photos - I felt as though I was missing part of my brain.
Note: This is a revision posted on Sunday, 4/3. I adjusted the levels a bit in Photoshop, and posterized to 12 levels. I think it should print better this way. Soon I'll be putting together another collection, which will include this design. Note 2: It printed beautifully!

thatswho says: Backyard pond designers' tote; cap, visor, scarf, vest - now you have me going, sef! I like your new icon, it's one of my favorite designs of yours.

sef

sef says: More ideas: canvas beach kit bag for buckets, spades, snorkles and flip-flops; tote bag for someone studying marine biology (a very popular subject!); hawaiian-style shirt for the more exclusive type of beach bum; canvas blinds for a fish-related business; skirting on display units in a fish-related business.

rhondad...

rhondadesigns says: You have created a fabulous impression of secret spaces and watery depths in this design. The fabric would be wonderful to use in a quilt for a fishing enthusiast. My fingers twitch when I see materials like this, because I can see so much potential for fussy cutting pieces to stitch into complex quilt blocks.

thatswho says: Bad penny, and raul - Thanks so much - I'm glad you both see possibilities for it - I wasn't sure what it was good for, :o), just got caught up in making it. I used Painter 8 and Photoshop 7.

thatswho says: Thanks, Kathy; I'm glad you saw it...I finally got it up at 3:00 this morning. My connection problems, supposedly fixed, continued. It took 3/4 hr just to get it uploaded, submitted to the contest, and, strangely enough, getting it publicly viewable!
