The original painting was photographed and then "liquified" in Adobe PhotoShop so that I could use it as a palette for a new project. Once I had a design I liked, I then changed the hue of the entire project digitally. The final step was to create a reflection. Voilá! The wonders of the digital age. One of my favorite tools in Adobe Photoshop is the filter that allows me to "liquify" a photograph, and use the textures and colors already present as my palette for a new creation. I was especially pleased at the way this piece turned out. The beautiful colors of the original version reminded me of my flower garden in the spring, when my roses and irises begin to bloom. In this version I am simply enjoying the flow of warm colors - especially the light orange, against the darker hues and the purple. I see this fabric as a lovely choice for a robe, a long flowing dress, curtains, or upholstery. The colors came out beautifully on the swatches I ordered. If you need the design in a different size, just ask. It is a simple matter to make these changes for you. Just click on "send message" in the left hand column. I am also always open to discussing licensing rights. Thank you for stopping by. If you should make any purchase, whether a swatch or several yards, know that it will be appreciated, and encourage me in my creative pursuits. Happy Sewing! Copyright Mary K Wykes 4-26-16
