Love this. Would like to see this printed. I hope the fine shades of gray, this particular effect of the watercolor is reproduced well.

wonderfully made!!!! Love them, cause, strangely for being quite a "serious" approach for drawing them (not cartoonish) they are not scary at all :) :)
Yeah, some of the squid images I looked at for research were a little creepy. I wanted to see if I could make an elegant squid fabric...not sure if I am satisfied with the flow of the repeat but it sure was fun working with paint again.
Haha, yes, watercolor does seem the perfect medium. Using just the black, grays and white for the design takes some of the creepiness of squid out, for me at least, and makes it just a lovely, interesting design. One of My favorite types of designs, where you look twice because you don't immediately identify it as squid.
