Ack, I can't believe I didn't comment on how disappointed I was that this didn't finish in the top ten. It definitely deserved to be there!!
Posted over 5 years ago.
Aw - thanks, Jo! I didn't see this comment before - and what a nice one it is! :)
Hey Mona, i totally agree you should've placed higher, it's annoying so many non-pointilism entries did better, but even discounting those entries yours should have still been up there, due to it being a lovely and attractive design on it's own merit! good job hon!
Aw! Thank you, Rachel and Lucinda! That is so kind of you both. I didn't really expect to do all that well... though it would have been nice to have placed a wee bit higher considering it was actually pointillism and so many entries were not.
This was one of my favorites. Surprised it didn't do better.
shocking mona!! should have done better :(
Thank you, Patty!
I was just going to say what Cean said, I totally think of starfish when I see this, even as is! I think it makes a terrific fabric design either way, great job! :)
Thanks, Cean and Kelly! And if I had the energy to mess with this further, it probably would make a nice underwater scene, Cean! :)
hey, this is cool! I like the subtle horizontal lines - they give it a nice sense of movement and definition. And of course that glorious bright red in those dancing flowers!
This was well worth the hand cramp, Mona! I love the undulating pattern. Change the colors in photoshop and I think it would also be a lovely underwater scene with starfish on rocks!
Thank you, everyone! This has definitely helped to make my day! (This and the memory of my crazy child dancing on stage at the Miranda Cosgrove concert last night... what can I say, I'm a proud mama!)
Mona, this is one of my favorites. Really lovely.
Very pretty design!
Lovely design Lulakiti! It has a gorgeous magical quality, and it really does look like those flowers are dancing! :)
well done...this is so very pretty.
This is gorgeous, especially in the yard view. I love the wavy repeat in it and you don't really see that in the FQ. Scrummy's right, it would be a good Christmas fabric.
Thank you, Grace!
I was sure I left a comment earlier. Probably got distracted while typing. Anyway love the colours
Thanks, Vo, Rhonda and Carina! :) And Vo - I will definitely tell her that! :)
it is a fun tricky design, those fiery men are special inthere, scrummy is right! :) God blessed the bush in your path ;)
Those fiery-men blossoms look fantastic Mona! I love it when a pattern plays tricks and makes us see more than one aspect of a design. The leaf textures are wonderful too.
Mona, tell your daughter to get busy tomorrow and make a design; even if it's too late for the contest! I love it that she was inspired by my design. Tell her thanks, I appreciate it!
Aw! Thanks, vo! That means a lot! By the way - my daughter saw yours and said, "That's beautiful!" And then she wanted to enter the contest too - inspired by it - and I had to tell her that she was too late (as she was already supposed to be in bed).
Flaming hot! Bottom line is if you like it, it's a winner!
Ha! They do kind of look like little fiery men, don't they?! Honestly, I am not sure if I should be ashamed or pleased with this design... it is so far out of my comfort zone I am not totally sure what to make of it. BUT I do like it as a fabric... so there it is. :) Thank you both!!!
Is it just me? I see lovely little fiery men dancing around.... this could be a great chrissy fabric too :) Best of luck in the contest! xxx
Looks great. Repeat is nice.
