Which came first, the chicken or the egg? That's the eternal puzzle, and I certainly don't have the answer. At the breakfast table the only question that really matters is "Scrambled, soft-boiled or sunny-side-up?"
By the way, I printed the chickens on my 1890s Golding Pearl No. 3 cast-iron letterpress printing press. The block with the chicken image also is an antique. I collect blocks with chickens, dogs or horses (and anything else that catches my eye) as well as old-fashioned metal and wood type; I love to spend afternoons in my home print shop, listening to music and making a huge inky mess.
