At last I found an image which was potentially improved by this technique, not ruined. This was not done with the Pointillize filter in Photoshop,which destroyed everything I tried it on. This was some filters, and then the Seurat brush in Corel Painter - with a lot of attention to the settings. It gave me a way to create a lizardish texture.
