How lovely, Lucinda. All of your animals looks so happy! It's wonderful that you've included a lesson with your design. I didn't know about the race and I can never remember the order of the signs. It's always great to learn something new.
Thanks Victoria! I've heard of two versions, I like this one, it has a lot of interesting details about the race. Oooo, round pillow does sound lovely.
Thanks Christine! I think in the story, the dog decided that taking a bath in the river was more important than finishing the race and that the snake rode in the hoof of the horse
You could make a lovely, round, accent pillow with this design. I've never heard that version of the legend before.
Lucinda, love the cutout work very nice design! but I can't believe the dog was slower then the snake lol
Thanks Carina and Tracy!
This one should definitely win!

Beautiful, beautiful, Lucinda! I love it. You're helping to make this contest a tough one! Great job.
Thanks Joanne, Cean and Nikky! I was wondering late tues night if I was being overly ambition trying to add all the papercut details but I'm glad you guys like it!
This is brilliant. I like the whimsy and fun it brings to the pattern.
Very striking, clever, cute and usable to boot! I have always loved those chinese paper cutouts, and this pays great homage to them. Wonderful idea and you pulled it off wonderfully!
oh fantastic Lucinda, super detailed and gorgeous, love all your grinning animals, they look well happy to have a year named after them and feature in this beautiful design!
Thanks Jillian and Patty!

All of the animal symbols were done very well! So nice and clever of you to include everyone while still putting the rabbit in the spotlight!

The rich crimson colour looks wonderful in this stark, red on white pattern! I love how you have featured this year's Symbol while including all of the others in the design.
