Picotage vines fabric by jenthompson on Spoonflower - custom fabric

More about this preview. Help_icon

Picotage was a method for creating fabric designs that dates back to the 18th century. The artisan would create the patterns by piercing a wood block with various sizes of tacks to create white dots in the printed image. My picotage-style fabric is made with much more modern techniques (i.e. a sharpie and Photoshop!) but the design was inspired by a cording pattern that I found in a Victorian ladies' magazine dating from 1875.
