I posed Mercy Percy, and, with some help from my son John (the cameraman), took over 3 dozen pictures of sweet MP. I then chose four shots to clean up; although I ended up using only three of them. I put those three into the repeat and added a repeat of "strings" in the background.
Mercy Percy is an original marionette designed and made by my father; and all rights to him, including; but not limited to, images of him taken after 1988, are owned entirely by me.
Come visit my store on CafePress to see the fourth picture of Mercy Percy.

Thank you decobot. When we settled my mother's estate Mercy Percy was one of my very earliest choices.

You did a great job combining the photos into a design, they sit over the strings very nicely. Really sweet that your father made him, he is adorable!
Thank you Rhonda.
This is a charming design and a heartfelt tribute to your talanted father, Victoria.
Thank you shiny, gracedesign, and melissamelissa.
Cute! I love the red check.
very lovely design!
beautiful Victoria. And what a tribute to your father. Very nice
Oh, and Cean, I'm always amazed when I start looking closely at Mercy Percy to think my father sewed him. He really is well made and it appears entirely by hand, no machine.
Thank you scrummy, uzumakijo, and Cean. The color on my monitor looks pretty accurate to Mercy Percy's real colors. I pulled the sort of blue gray color for the background from Mercy Percy's eyes.
this is so amazing as a fabric, a memory, and an example of the highest toy craftmanship!
have a secret dream of designing toys, so I'm floored when I see a great toy. Your fbric is a perfect tribute and the colors you chose give it a vintage, slightly mysterious feel, without being creepy. (hard to do using marionettes!) Amazing work.
love Mercy Percy Victoria, he looks delightful in his beautiful and very vintage looking design, love the string background too. it's wonderful you can remember your father in this way and pay tribute to his talents. really cool and brilliantly done!
oh this is so cool and fabulous, love the back story too ~ looks really great Victoria!! xxx
Thank you all, lulakiti, kdl, catru, vo, pattysloniger, and babysisterrae; so much. I've actually decided to use Mercy Percy as my "mascot" and as I gear up at places like Cafe Press I'm using "Mercy Percy Designs" as my company name. My Father was a very talented, multi-talented, guy. Mercy Percy is one of two marionettes he made. My sister owns the other, a completely different style gentleman by the name of "Henri Petit". Henri Petit is hand craved of wood and has a patented foot design with a jointed ankle that allows a more natural looking foot movement as the marionette walks.
I think this is sentimentally dear and heart warming. It looks great as a fabric design.
This is great Victoria, i love that it has special meaning for you, and I think you did a great job putting it all together and using the "strings" as a pattern in the background.
Ingenious! And I love nostalgic tributes!
yes, I agree with lulakiti and kdl ;) is wonderful to put Mercy Percy on a fabric, on that wonderful way you did. Also, wonderful way of having MP for the family :)
What a special keepsake you have here, he is precious!
This is really great, Victoria! What a nice use of photos! And I love that your father made Mercy Percy!
