Hi Jamie! You are so sweet to check out all my designs and make comments! I so appreciate the conversation! Thank you!
Posted almost 4 years ago.
Hi V, i have not found any of your creations that i do not like! This has so much personality~~~~~~~and wonderful colors~~~~jamie again!
Francine! Fool is mine, and also Q of S. I think it's a quiet design with meaning; too subtle unless you are familiar with the Fool. Not lively enough unless you dance to a lute. :-) hahaha, you do have good taste! I know, cuz I vote for you all the time!

The fool is my avatar of choice and this design has a special place in my affections. It's beautiful Virginia - what the heck happened with the votes is beyond me. I voted for it, and I know I have good taste! HAHA! =)
bwhahaha, Jo. These are the times when I really wish we had a magnifying zoom to check out the designs that are hard to see.
have to say, i did expect this to be top ten also....can only assume voters didn't look properly... ho hum! it's so beautiful vo and anyone who bothered to check it out properly would agree! oh look they already have!!
And Catru! Congrats to you! I'm going to go give my congrats to you on your design! Nicely done.
I love you girls! Thanks for the sympathy, sometimes you place and sometimes you don't. My consolation prize is all of your comments. Big hearts to all of you.
I'm also surprised this didn't finish in the top ten. Lyrical describes it very well. Hope you sell lots.
I was surprised as well. I thought this was elegant and lyrical - a real winner!
i'm really surprised this beautiful design didn't make it to the top 10.
another case of too clever, too gorgeous.... can't wait to see this printed, I'm sure you'll sell heaps. It's a wonderfully beautiful design xxx
I, too, am surprised that it didn't place higher. It is a nice design, though I don't know anything about tarot.
I agree with Carina! Lovely design!
grrr, how this didn't make it to top ten??? :((( it deserved to be there!!!!!!!!!
Love your patterns in the shirts and background. The shapes in your illustrations are very soothing and I love that you added little Vo birds :)
My knowledge of the Tarot fool was very sketchy so I hadn't picked up on the significance of the various elements of your design, Virginia. Thanks for the info, which I looked up and found very interesting.
My Fool design depicts a Tarot fool. Slightly different than the jester fool of the courts. This is a pretty good description of the role of the Fool: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art24632.asp. LOL, but he also could be contemplating how to tell the King what intrigues are happening at court. And thanks Rhonda!
Your Bardic Fool design is fabulous, Virginia! I've always thought that the role of the traditional Mediaeval Fool was to see through the intrigues and politics of life at the royal court and to tell the truth to the king with humour. Your wandering character looks as though he fits that description. The colours that you have used, along with the lovely background pattern, give the impression of a fantasy world.
:-D ahhh, so sweet Catru! You're making me blush with your comments.
wow, I was coming here to add something more, and found your comment :D
ok, I keep thinking in this fabric to make something, ... I'm tempted with a bag, or something I could wear it all day and see it, cause again, has this magical going on :)
Catru! Thanks so much! hahaha, I just posted a comment to your design: I think we had a similar idea going on with our designs. :-)
This one is sooo wonderful!!! I love how you made it in a blue-green soft scale, and those birdsssss, lovely!!! It has something magical :)
Thanks so much Grace!
this is so beautiful. great design!
Connie and Nadja, thanks soo much. :-)
I love this design. The colors are beautiful! I find the awkward poses of the figure to really fit the theme this week!
Rosanna! Thanks, makes me laugh somewhat nervously that I'm starting to have a recognizable style. :-)
Virginia, I am beginning to recognize your style now with out your name on it...Just a lovely balance, colors, design and art! Congratulations!
Love the dog and the colors are great. I love all the detail you've added to the background and tunic.
Victoria, Jo and Cean, Ahhhh ya'll are so sweet! I love the symbolism of Tarot and especially the Fool card...it so works with the uncertainty of these contests.
Still love this, came back to look again and realized I spelled tambourines wrong in my previous post. Need edit button now!
really really beautiful Vo! love everything about it, wonderful idea and character, gorgeous patterning and colouring and totally unique.....i really hope all the fantastic detail is noticed in the contest and it does really well!
Patty, hahaha, yes, the tunic is groovy! And colors: I'm trying to widen my color palette and use colors I don't usually use in large swatches. :-)
This is so cool! I love that groovy tunic and your colors are scrumptious.
My vote is - experiences it all and sees all possibilities. He looks very reflective. It's a lovely design.
If it makes the poo brigade happy, maybe the fool is lifting up his foot to check if he stepped in poo? Make up your own story! hahaha.
we'll have no dog poo here thank you very much...... ;) xxx
so well done! love all the patterns and colors. i think you needed some dog poo for samarra, and a distraught shoe! no seriously, this is just lovely!
Shin, Wheeeee! Thanks. :-)
Thanks Poetryqn! I was all worried that people couldn't see the details (although sometimes that exactly what makes people click!)
it's absolutely gorgeous. The background the shirts. I love it all
Lovely, vo! It's the details that keep drawing me in.
Spellstone, Sharon, Mona and Cean, yay for your sweet comments. :-) I hope everyone hears lutes softly playing in the background when they view the entries!
I can actually hear lutes and tamberines playing when I look at this beautiful illustration. Love the darting dog, too! Bardy on, Vo!
Oh wow! I absolutely love this! Really gorgeous! Great job!
