victori...

victorialasher says: Thank you paragon. Many years ago a read a book about the Cherokee (if I recall correctly) experience on the Trail of Tears. I cried through much of it. They were probably more civilized than the people who expelled them from their homes.

victori...

victorialasher says: Thank you all so much. I started this subject several times but found I just couldn't pull it together; and feel I'd done it justice. I always just choked up, quite literally. But I also couldn't seem to let it go; so I started doodling the trails and tears, just to do something, and ended up sort of liking where it was going. I made that design, without the drawings, public a few hours ago. I did finally feel I had to buck up and add a few drawings to make it more of a toile design; and more specific to the topic. I'm really touched that you all like it; thank you.

uzumakijo

uzumakijo says: i really love this design victoria, a great idea for the theme and wonderfully done....love you used tears as the actual trail, it's a very literal and expressive way to approach such a tragic subject, very thoughtful and a very fitting tribute i hope this does very well!
