This is a really interesting treatment. Not something I'd ever have thought to do, but it's appealing. Makes me think of feedsack fabric.
Burlap background taken from free textures and made tilable. Text handcreated in Photoshop using various free Gothic fonts. ("Kleinvogel" means 'little bird', by the way...) Leaves drawn in Photoshop. Everything made faintly transparent, merged down and smudged to blend in Photoshop.... Looks remarkably authentic though, doesn't it? I would really like to see how the burlap texture overprints on actual textured fabric!
