Thank you, Cean! You made me laugh out loud about masked men. I dunno - somehow the whole Rococo get up is MUCH more appealing to me than, say, a guy in a balaclava...

You've hit the mysterious and romantic nail on the head with this beaut of a pattern, and your delightful description is making me rethink my natural distrust of masked men with gondolas.
Your description of your stunning fabric is romantic. Now we want to know exaclty what he looks like!!!! I love your fabric. I am doing a party in Febuary with this theme, so I have been researching
Wow! Thanks, rhonda! Your lyric reaction is more than I could have hoped for. I'm just learning how to draw digitally. Of course, I'm working in the wrong program! (I've yet to learn Illustrator) As for Venice, yes, someday, I'd love to go to Carnivale in Venice...but not until I know someone who's having a ball in a palazzo. As an old boss was fond of saying, 'go big or go home'. ;-) Thanks again for your encouragement!
These debonair dancers and elaborate masks make me think of Casanova, Don Giovanni, romantic assignations, intrigues at court, duels at dawn and, yes, Carnivale!! (No-one ever said that my imagination had atrophied!!) This fabulous design is like a faintly heard echo of a bygone age that leaves you with a vague feeling of discontent with the modern era. (Until you think of sanitation and hot showers!!!)
