Try the repeat on a diagonal and add some small elements so they fill in some of the space around the main design. A small bloom and/or petals or leaves.

Thanks for your comment Jane. I tried some of the contest colors in place of the color changer choices but didn't really think the colors worked with this background. I did change a pale pink to white, because I thought it needed more contrast. Like my last swatches, I probably should do some different color combinations. It is so hard to tell from the computer what will really look good. The background I think is #9FD5B5. I'm getting better at drawing with a mouse. It helped when I realized that I could click on a color in my image and have it come up in doodle so I could "paint" with it. Do you think it needs more detail? I had to remove the detail from the top flower because it was so different than the bottom one.
I like this one! It's detailed and dynamic.
I just had to go back an d play with the dahlia images for a more realistic design. Two photos, collage, posterize, and lots of doodle at Picnik and some other editing.
