A fried & I went to an exhibit of fashion from the 1920's through to the 80's.. I was especially inspired by the bold, often whimsical designs, and the fabulous construction, ( often architecture) of the earlier clothing. The mermaids tails are a direct interpretation of one of the gowns. Softening it to celadon, adding large scale Asian plates (also toned down), creates a soothing fantastic sea of possibility. I'm thinking lingerie.
