Beautiful! Imagine, five years has passed since the award - it's worth stirring up attention!

Would also look wonderful as wallpaper - and the other variation too.

Striking and elegant design! I especially like the color reversals of the leaf edgings and the way they introduce some variation to this motif. The color palette is lovely and it certainly looks like a realistic representation as well as a very usable fabric design.
Your precision paid off -- it repeats so well, and probably prints very crisp. Love it!
wonderful! love the colors

I can hardly wait until I can afford to buy some of this. I'm longing for it.
thanks so much for your comment Francine, i don't know how i missed it, but i'm sure glad you wrote it!! and i don't mind saying it'll probably be a good long while before i get comments calling anything i do professional and polished again, so i'm gonna savour this wonderful comment while i can haha! cheers!
It looks so amazing printed up! I know I'm late to join the fray, but I just had to pipe in with how amazed I was by this beauteous design. It's so polished and professional and absolutely stunning and I don't mind saying it makes me a little bit jealous! Frick!
cheers Alex! i'm really pleased with it!
Ooooo printed good!
thanks so much Gina, glad you like!!!

here it is on quilting weight but with flash!
uzumakijo uploaded a fabric image for
lily pond - botanical :
YAY! my lily pond design has printed up brilliantly, this is just a swatch on quilting weight without flash, i really want to save up and get some on the voile!!
wow! thanks for the huge compliment Nola, i'm not sure i can agree with you there (Monet's waterlilies is my mum's favourite painting) but i love that you think so!! glad you like it!
Better than Claude Monet's waterlilies . . .very beautiful!
thanks so much Anna, Elvina and Khaled, Elvina - i know! isn't the difference amazing....i coloured them with the different coloured outlines to try to create some depth but couldn't believe how different it made the green look, i actually did double check i had used the right green myself, even though i knew i had hahaha! thanks for your vote.....i'm still mega happy this one did so well!!
Congratulations - Lovely work.
Beautiful amount of detail, you know at first I thougtht you used 2 different shades of green for your leaves, but then realized it must be the lines ( black vs white) that make it look like this. Great trick to add more depth to the design! Congrats! I am so glad my vote helped this one to shine!
Congratulations me dear, this is lovely, 2nd place is mega, Hazaar!
oh hey thanks for all the really fantastic comments, i'm so excited to have come 2nd, it's such a great feeling....haven't been on here much recently, but trying to stay up-to-date! btw the swatch has now dispatched.....can't wait to see it in the flesh (so to speak haha!)
congrats! 2nd place is so GREAT!
2nd place is fab (but I reallllly thought you'd win this one). Perfect one for the theme. Congrats!
Congrats! your design is super fab! :)
So beautiful, congratulations on 2nd place!
CONGRATS - I was hoping this was the WINNER - but yay for getting 2nd place! Beautiful design!!
Congratulations on 2nd! In my mind, you were 1st though!!! :) Truly a fabulous design!

2nd place!! So great, congrats!!
Congrats on your 2nd place with these lovely lilies. I'm with you, Madamowl, this was the real deal!
Sure the 1st place design is cute, but to me yours is more of a true botanical. Again, great job!
Congratulations with your 2nd place! Really love this design!
Woo Hoo! Congratulations on your 2nd place win :)
Congratulations on 2nd! Great job!
Congratulations for the second place !!! :) Really hope you'll make this great design for sale, it really desirves it :)
Yay!! Congratulations on 2nd place, I wouldn't have been surprised if it had taken the whole shebang, but really well deserved in my book! :)
well done sweetie ~ loving to bits!!! xxx
Congratualations on 2nd place, Jo! I'm not at all surprised to see you did so well with this gorgeous design.
Congratulations on 2nd place with this wonderful design, Jo!
oh my goodness, thanks for all the wonderful comments, i haven't been on spoonflower for a few days, the headache i thought doing this design gave me actually turned out to be the start of coming down with the flu, between that and trying to do my rococo design i haven't manage to get much else done! anyway i'm pretty all much better now, so hey thanks again, and i'll try to keep up better in the future haha!!
i love it! great job!! :)
if this doesn't win I will be gobsmacked! my jaw literally dropped when I saw it!
Absolutely gorgeous! It was well worth all the time you spent on it, and I love that you didn't even have to use all the colors!
So very beautiful! I hope your head is all better now and can see what a fantastic job you did! I really want this to win!
this is beautiful, Jo. Gorgeous lines and great use of the colors - I like this one much better than the "funky" full colored version you made later - this is so serene - I think it's the best of all the fabrics you've made thus far. I love your use of the white lines on some of the leaves - really gives it some lovely depth.
This is just such a remarquable work !!! One of my favorite :) you said you spent lots of time on it but for sure the result worth it ! It is just wonderful !!
My only regret is there isn't a touch of the red of the palette but still great :D Good luck for the contest and I have no doubt this pattern will make it's one way :)
one of my favourites!!!
Coming back to this again, and I'm wrong, I like this one best. The depth and detail are so wonderful. I would not be at all surprised if you won with this lush, gorgeous, design. I will be totally shocked, and frankly appalled, if you don't finish in the top ten.
oh gosh, thanks so much for all the brilliant comments, i'd love to do well obviously, but all the designs i've seen so far have been amazing, there are some excellent entries this week, lots i like more than my own. oh well fingers crossed, but i'm not holding my breath hahahaaa!!!
Swoon! I love that you only used part of the restricted palette & the textural detail is delicious. Good luck this week!
Beautiful and airy -- has a great botanical-illustration feel too.
Honestly if this does not come in AT LEAST top 3, I will be shocked. I fully expect it to win though!!! :) You rocked this one, Jo!
ditto on the comments --your use of the colors & detail work turned out stunning -great repeat --the finished effect is very amy butler (to me) good job!
I enjoyed reading your description of how this design came about. I'm glad your vision came to life and you certainly have my vote.
This is so gorgeous! Love the illustrations and the repeat. Good luck in the competition!
This is stunning, there is so much depth. You really deserve a win on this one.
Your design is totally stunning!
wow thanks for all the wonderful comments...i'm kinda surprised it turned out so well really, it is pretty much exactly how i imagined it, which hardly ever happens to me haha, i usually end up running out of time or something goes wrong, ( i did only just get it finished in time actually, drawings all done but just could not get that repeat how i wanted it!) hey ho, all worked out in the end!....btw cean last time i threw something together at the last minute i came 108th hahaaa (that's still amusing me) and i'm sure none of your designs could ever look anything less than amazing!!
This is gorgeous. I really love it.
great use of the colors, and really nice linework!
mum showed me this. Its lush. I like how you used the colours!
WOw! This is fabulous! Love the illustration and your use of greens is just terrific.
oh Jo, your lilies are simply gorgeous! You had me pegged, I did end up doing roses (and tulips, haha) but your lilies are far more spectacular. I love your elegant line work and the colors work so well with your subject matter. Best of luck!!
Wow! I thought this was a watercolor from the thumbnail, but it is a perfectly executed, non cheating limited colorway entry! You have worked magic. I almost threw together a water lily idea I had last night because I was missing SF contests so much. Boy am I ever glad that I didn't! It would have looked heinous next to this amazing design!
Oh my! This is absolutely stunning! Totally blown away!
Gorgeous detail and perfect in these colors!
thanks so much for all the fab comments....i deliberately didn't look at any of the entries whilst doing mine just incase anyone else had done lilies and i thought they were too good to compete with hahaa! i love drawing in pen and ink so i was looking forward to that bit, it was just the colours that threw me really, i thought of roses and tulips first but thought they may be very popular....i thought patty may do roses then i'd be in trouble haha! anyway it took me till 2am to finish (uk time) then had to do all pack lunches for kids first day back at school.....just got back from dropping them off....very tired haha! gonna go check out the other designs now i'm sure they are all amazing...i'm a bit scared to look actually haha!
oooooo ~ this is utterly fabulous ~ oooooo ~ love! xxx
I like it a lot - this is a super design! Grand job managing to create a useable design in spite of the pallette.
Fantastic design Jo !!! (Can I say the headache was worth it - lol?) You have applied the botanical - limited colour - palette brilliantly: all the very best for the contest :)
Very lovely! I can just picture this on a vintage dress or some deck chairs...
this is just straight up amazing, please be so proud of yourself!
How luscious, Jo! Beautifully drawn and a great repeat in the larger yardage views. Well worth the headache! Great job.
This is gorgeous, Jo! The colours were quite challenging but I think you did a fantastic job of realistically representing the water lilies in a botanical style.
Very pretty! and totally botanical! Good luck in the contest!
You have worked wonders with the limited colour range, Jo. These masses of waterlilies look wonderful in the repeat and you have a great sense of depth in the design.
