A FQ cushion on quilting weight would be a challenging contest, scrummy; I like the idea. Thank you for the alternative fastener suggestions,inscribed_here. I was afraid it might not have enough overlap; but now I can just add velcro or something. I didn't want to mess up the icing with a zipper; but I guess I could also consider an invisible zipper. Rhondadesigns, I have several other ideas for pillows floating around in my head; and you have stimulated my brain to come up with several more. Thank you.

Would that be a case of sweet revenge, Victoria? The cushion idea is great. I have inserted zips into the ends of this kind of cushion. The technique works well for seat pads that go on wooden chairs. Come to think of it, these cake covers would look fantastic on chair seats. When anyone started to sit down you could yell, "Don't sit on the cake!!!"
This is a great (and very funny) idea, Victoria. The no zipper method of construction is very appealing. If people don't like the idea of no fastener at all it should still be fairly simple to attach velcro, a few buttons or some press-studs. I can think of a few 'precious' people in my life who totally deserve one of these.
I love the idea that a customer can buy a cushion kit on a FQ. Definitey a great contest idea!!!! ;) xxx
Thank you weavingmajor. I'm looking forward to ordering this and making it. Probably going to have to wait until after Christmas.
hee hee. Egg on your head, cake on your neighbor's face! you never cease to amuse me. I love the piped sides for the cake - well planned!
Good idea about the default view, done; thank you scrummy. I'll think about the reverse, never flies, It's a delicious cake. Right now the reverse is a lightly textured tan, meant to look like unfrosted cake
It would be great for you to set the default onto the sateen view so customers can see everything Victoria :) Also ~ perhaps a check (plaid) or stripe on the reverse?? (not flies!!!) lovely idea xxx
Somehow it seemed like a good idea to turn my calendar design into a pillow.
