I reccomend ordering a swatch first before buying yardage as colors shown on the screen might be different when printed out.

Which green is more brilliant ?
The fabric photos look a bit washed out.
I am interested in wallpaper.
Are the wallpaper photos true on Spoonflower?
They are dark and rich.

Hi~ I've seen the problems you guys have with the saturation and I think it's pretty normal. Most of the designs uploaded here are made using images in RGB but printers work with CMYK. In short, RGB are colours made with light in a screen so they are brighter. CMYK are colours made with ink so it's the space used for stuff that is going to be printed. The result depends of what kind of ink you use. Serigraphyc inks have a pretty good saturation and brightness because they're dense (that also puts some complication limits to the work you want to reproduce), digital printers use lighter and less dense ink so they can make more complicated designs. Spoonflower uses digital printers to print the designs so if your image es in RGB the computer will have to "translate" those colours to CMYK, wich will chage them a bit. Then the printer will try and reproduce that with its ink, but the result won't be as saturated and bight as if using specially made inks (like a pantone) or using serigraphy as printing method. For any printing method the hardest colours to get accurately are orange and green, so usually they use special inks appart from CMYK to be more accurate, but just if the workload makes it profitable 'cause it's more expensive.

Hi Virginia, sorry to hear that you were not happy with your order. I'm not sure what was the reason, what fabric have you printed it on? on some fabrics colors are less saturated than on the others. I'm including picture of this design printed on linen fabric (it's a bit more yellowish than on this picture but pretty saturated) The resolution is fine and has no impact on colors or saturation. If you believe that print quality is low I would suggest you to contact Spoonflower help about it.

I love the image of this fabric, and ordered some. It does not have the intense color of the picture; the color is not at all saturated and looks faded. I'm wondering if this is a result of the 150dpi or something about the printing process?

How original in everything!its is gorgeous! good luck
I'm glad you entered this one - seen it around SF awhile and liked it. Not that you can't create something better still, of course, but I do like this one.
Thank you Moira! Actually I wanted to create something new for the contest but don't have enough time so here it goes!
If this isn't perfect or the Geodes and precious stones contest - I don't know what is!
Thank you Sheila! If you are interested in any particular design as a wallpaper send me a message and I'll make it available

great idea and it looks gorgeous!
Thank you Clotilda! I usually play with layers and offset filter in Photoshop to get the seamless repeat

Very pretty! I have to ask, how did you get the seamless repeat? It's obviously not done in mirror repeats, so how did you manage without getting a "tile effect"? Thanks!
Just got the swatches printed in the new color profile. Not happy with how it looks now, both my malachite fabrics look almost the same now, less contrasted and flatter. I'll have to try and correct this but until then please use old color profile if you have a choice

very beautiful! great colours
It is also interesting to see a soft fabric depicting a stone which I've only seen polished immaculately flat!
Your illusion of depth is striking.
I love your malachite fabric. My father was a geologist. The color is delicious.
Thanks domesticate! I like your designs, would be great for upholstery.

Oh well done!! I just finished two marbled designs. This looks great! I'd love to see it on a tray or even a lampshade?
