I share an interest in fabric design with my sister ArtbyJaneWalker . I'm a quilter and have a love of fabric. I can set up photos for pillows.

V2.1 sample shows that this prints much darker and less orange with the new profile.

This image didn't come out sharp enough as there is more detail in the design, but it is closer to the actual fabric in color. This is the 8 inch swatch with an 8 inch repeat. I may try a new photo sometime.

Hey Kathy, if you want graduated complementary pinks, let me know and I'll send you some color codes.
Yes, I plan to get photos. It might not work as good smaller. It would be great for journal covers where you want a strong statement.
My surprise design (not this pattern) that didn't work was a couple shades of pink that looks solid!
oh good! glad to be wrong! (here, anyways...) Post up a picture when you get some time!
This printed much more interesting than I thought it would. Lots of movement to it like molten lava. There are ten variations of the basic repeat in sizes from 8 inch to 1 inch and 2 mirrored designs in the Swirls and Whirls collection.
I did leave this, the12 color one, in the collection at the 8 inch size just to see how it does print. I did a smaller 2 color version using colors from the chart.
Thanks weavingmajor, I hadn't thought about the colors being too intense, but you are probably right. I have seen first hand with yellow and orange. I have had greens not show with enough difference between them. I may just leave the red ones out. I'm sure the smaller sizes wouldn't be so good. Most of the 4 color ones have colors chosen from the chart. I think the red 4 color was just what the color changer picked. I could try it lighter.
oh... duh! I didn't read your comment right the first time. Sadly, I'm not sure that ANY of your black-and-dark-red on red designs will print well, due to the intense saturation - it will be magenta and yellow inks crowding in so much that they bleed over, and then adding some cyan and black on top of that... I fear it will just look muddy red in the end. But maybe someone with more experience can chime in...? I'll see if I can look up my mendhi fabric where I tried to get several red hues that all ended up looking the same, even after 4 attempts at lightening and increasing contrast.
this one is so *intensely* red that I fear the subtleties of the colors would be lost due to bleeding and oversaturation... it would probably end up looking like a plain red fabric with some random black and grey patterns overlaid. I really like it on-screen, but I suspect it wouldn't print well.
I have 3 red versions of this design; I'm having trouble choosing one to have printed. This one was reduced to 12 colors, I can't see much difference with this and the original and if I make it smaller , less colors would probably be better. Some of the other colors are 12 colors and some are only 4. It is much easier to choose 4 colors to go together in the color changer.
