Your idea worked well! It was worth the trouble to line up individual shells, rather than repeating the same one digitally.

yay, printed spiral shells! i love this design however the fabric version has turned out a bit darker and mor muted than i'd like! now the contest is over, i've digitally enhanced the saturation and i'll have two versions up for sale eventually (when i've proofed the more saturated one! anyway for now heres the darker one....my other half really likes it like this, so i thought i'd put it up for sale also as is...

I love the graphic vibe of this design; it's also very original. The neutral tones on the black is stunning and very effective. Wonderful design.

thankyou newmom and pavlova_is i'm really pleased you like it! it was fun to do!
wow, this is stunning! My hat is off to you for taking the time to do such complicated design!
thanks natalie, samarra and drea, i am VERY fond of a spiral i have to say and any chance to shoehorn one in somewhere is usually taken haha! thats lovely you think it looks like snails kissing drea, i love snails...i always meant to do a snail design, just not got round to it yet. perhaps i can pretend this is it! haha!
This is BEAUTIFUL, uzumakijo! I don't know how you had the patience to 'build' it, but it was well worth the effect you got! It almost looks like little snails kissing:)
Mesmerizingly fun, Jo! Very eye-catching and graphic. Well done!
I really like how you did something totally different than everyone else! This is lovely.
thankyou so much mona and francine, i'm just glad my idea worked out (more or less) like i imagined!
This is really lovely Joanne! What a great idea and so beautifully executed!
btw jillian i still pretend they are unicorn horns even now, i have a big one in my bathroom that is especially good for that!!
oooh thanks everyone for your fab comments, i was having a bit of a mare with this actually, not doing the spiral, although that took ages it was straightforward, but the background! i wanted a light sandy background like the beach yeah? but i when tried to shut the scanner lid the shells moved out of position hahaa, i tried to put sandy material over them but it just came out blotchy and wrinkled, i almost gave up and did something else...but eventually just settled on leaving the lid open and having a black background hahahaaa!!! i really love it now tho...so alls well that ends well eh? haha!
Just gorgeous, uzumakijo!
I love the graphic quality of your design, it's bold and striking, yet still elegant!
Wow! Laying these fellas out would have made me lose my mind. I love how they turned out and the spirals are genius. It's like the small shells are forming to make a giant nautilus shell, kind of like Voltron (80's robot cartoon! They black background is striking and pops the shell colors out really nicely too, so don't fret. It's beautiful.
These have always been some of my favorite shell shapes, I imagined they were tiny unicorn horns when I was little. They look really exquisite here in spirals!
really cool and unique
The neutral colours of the shells against the dark background look fantastic! I love the feeling of ebb and flow that you have created with the spiral layout in this excellent repeat.
excellent! simple and bold and lovely!
I really really really love it. Simple and amazing. Best of luck! xxx
