I found these wonderful leaves in the garden. No idea what plant they are but they grow in clusters amongst fern and through cracks in the paving slabs. The reason I called my design velvet leaves is because on the back of the leaf are thick grooves of velvety stuff so the back is much more interesting than the front. I scanned them in and lightly manipulated in Pshop with some poster edges and a few colour changes to add interest to the design repeat.
This design now comes in a smaller size leaf, still using the same colours, and also I have a new version of this with a midnight blue/purple background.
