This is an ode to "Oi! Kitty" who was dyed pink and then picked up by authorities assuming she was an abused animal. As it turned out, Oi! Kitty was lucky. She actually had a very loving owner who promises to never dye her fur again (it was food coloring incidentally). But there are many cats out there who are not as fortunate. Homeless, abused, abandoned... this simple little design is dedicated to them. If, once for sale, this design happens to sell at all, I vow to match and donate whatever proceeds I might make to the Key West Cat Society (http://keywestcatsociety.com/). And maybe one day I can return to lovely Key West without feeling constantly sad for all of the little homeless kitties who call it their home.
I was actually just in Key West a week ago. And there are remarkably fewer homeless kitties than I remembered so the Key West Cat Society must already being doing its job! YAY!
