Made to celebrate my PWT heritage (that's Poor White Trash, for those of you that grew up in a house without wheels!) this design was originally made in 2012 for Spoonflower's 'My Town' Toile du Jouy contest. Since then, it's been featured in a book about American Toile
by Michele Palmer and continues to be one of my most popular designs.
Alongside two gloriously decrepit mobile home trailers are all the usual accoutrements: half of a car, a broken down pickup truck, a yard sofa, that trashy neighbor that always stares at you but never says hi, and of course, plenty of plastic pink flamingoes.
This newly re-worked version has a slightly denser visual impact, owing to the fact that I changed it from a rectangular repeat to a 6" x 6" square one. I think this makes it look more like a traditional Toile pattern. It's a smaller size, which makes it work better on wrapping paper and fat quarters... but let me know if you need a larger version and I can happily accommodate. (up to 12" x 12" repeat). Enjoy!
