By day I am an upstanding mosaic designer for New Ravenna Mosaics on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. By night I am a superdork drawing whatever weird things pop into my head. By morning I'm exhausted.

jesb says: Hi there, i just finished an adorable peasant dress for a toddler size. Would you like to see a foto? It will be for sale at an event to raise awareness and money for the loggerhead turtle on March 16 , 2013 on Edisto Island S.C. The print is so appropriate..especially the turtle. Will you be designing any other fabric with that particular turtle? It is perfect for being a loggerhead!! thanks for your design~~jamie

inscrib...

inscribed_here says: The uncoloured, leaping sea creatures in combination with the calm blues of the well ordered waves makes this design appear in turns exciting and serene. Very clever.

leah*

leah* says: I love it! and I have to agree with Decobot, the starfish is so cute waving hello at us. I love too, how you did leave them just plain white and black, even if you claim for it to have been laziness it still is cute! it is beautiful!

ceanirm...

ceanirminger says: Thanks so much, Kiwiandsteve! I don't know about being a great designer, though. This one was just lucky laziness(see comments below).

ksteve

ksteve says: Beautiful! I love the black and white sea creatures next to the blue shades in the waves. Just the right amount of contrast. You are such a great designer - thanks for sharing.

ceanirm...

ceanirminger says: Thank you decobot, patty, and uzumakijo! I was happy to dust this one off, get it done and up. They all looked so sad waving at me unfinished on the desktop. The uncolored element idea is half inspiration, half procrastination with a smidge of laziness. I tried coloring them all in, but it just kept looking garish and tacky, so I let them be, Choosing colors has never been my strong suit.

uzumakijo

uzumakijo says: yeah, i agree i really love how you leave some of the design elements uncoloured in some of your designs, it really does make them stand out and look really special and beautiful! gorgeous design, one of my favourites (...er although i think i say that to all your designs...this one though i especially love!!)

Posted about 6 years ago.

pattysl...

pattysloniger says: This is gorgeous! I like that you left the animals uncolored against the waves, really adds to the dreamlike quality.

victori...

victorialasher says: Oooh, I love this, it would make a fantastic beach cover-up.

Posted about 6 years ago.

ceanirm...

ceanirminger says: Yup, on the run from the 5-0 with only my wits and my husband's laptop.. Actually, just really procrastinating on the carousel theme and trying to be constructive with my down time. These guys were originally for a client who never got back in touch, so I figured it's time I put them on the open market. Poor Nessie was just a last minute idea because I wasn't sure I could use these guys.

Posted about 6 years ago.

sammyk

sammyk says: Awesome! I still love Nessie too. How did you manage to find a wad of free time to do these updates? Are you on the lam again? Shoulda known.
