Ah, remember the days of the quarter acre block? Back yards just seem to get smaller and smaller... if you're lucky enough to have one at all...
A little village, free of cars, all trees and window boxes... this kind of suburbia I think I could handle!

Thank you Deborah! I discovered Eric Carle when I was little... and rediscovered him (and all his new books) when my children were little... I love his work and am very inspired by his technique.
I love this design. Wonderful rich colors. (I love Eric Carle too! I discovered him when my children were little.) I like this whole collection.

So, I had a bit of fun with the camera and Photoshop this morning... I made this little pouch from faux suede fabric and the card image is printed on linen cotton.

Thank you Victoria! Doing it made me feel happy :)
Lovely collection, Robyn, so bright and happy!!
Thanks Shirley! I was thrilled with the way it printed on the linen cotton and the faux suede at least :)
It actually looks fabulous on fabric- saw it today on Flickr.
Thank you Vannina! I was quite nervous about how it might print but I'm super happy with the result!
Beautiful design! The printed fabric looks great!
Cushions at last! Printed on faux suede.
Thanks Kim! Haven't had much of a chance lately, but I'm keen to get the brushes out again!
Enchanting! Please keep painting.
Thank you Sue! I had loads of fun :) Can't wait to do some more...!
What a delightful drawing- I love the colors and the shapes of the houses!
Thanks Su! :) I'm loving these new fabrics for both colour & definition!
Looks great printed Boo - the definition in the print is fantastic!
The days of the Quarter Acre Block printed at scale shown here on faux seude. Photographed in natural morning sunlight.
Thank you so much Amy! I'm not fond of suburbia myself but if I had to live in it this is what is want it to look like! :)
Boo, I love your suburbia and want to live there now!!! It is beautiful in every way!
Thank you Shirley! So glad you noticed that old lady's house ;-P I was given some old fireside chairs last night... I'm a bit tempted to reupholster them in this!
Boo,This is terrific!!! I think I love all the people who live there including the old woman living in that shoe.A wonderful repeating fabric suited for all manner of things.
Thank you Rebel! I used to do a lot of lino printing and it's very much on the agenda (when I can squeak in a minute here and there). I love your hand drawn creations and appreciate your feedback. Here's to getting messy!
Love this design - keep on painting - you've got a great style. I've just started doing a lot more artwork by hand (drawing, painting, lino prints) and it's a lot more messy but I agree it's so much fun. Looking forward to seeing what you do next :)
Thank you Su! You're right... I just can't stop painting! It's too much fun!
Thank you Rhonda! You've got me feeling nostalgic too now... (I grew up on 2500 acres but my grandparents had a classic quarter acre block in a nearby town, complete with apple trees, tomatoes, pomegranates and rows of corn... I loved that yard so much!) And thank you for your super comment too Tina!
Boo this is just terrific! Looks like you're on a roll with your painting gig - so very nice to see these wonderful results!
WOW Robyn this is incredible! I love everything about it and the repeat is amazing!
This is a fabulous design, Boo! I love your painting style! I grew up in a small country town where everyone's house was on at least a quarter acre, often twice that. That was an era when the houses were not big and fancy, but kids had lots of space in which to play. We all had big gardens where fruit and fresh vegetables were grown and organic was the only way things were done. I think you have given me a serious case of nostalgia!;-)
...just for fun... a detail!
