su_g says: Thanks so much Jan, Angela, Rebel, Boo and Paula - what a great start to my morning! Very much appreciate all your great comments... So ok, I think it's getting pretty 'official' now - that 'towel surfing' IS a folk-sport - anyone for the next Olympics???

su_g says: Thanks Tara - good to know 'towel surfing' hits the spot (it feels like there is a general appreciation of this as a little recognised folk sport...) and really appreciate your comments on the shapes and color use, thanks again!

su_g says: Thanks you all so much for your great comments Rhonda, Ceri (thanks for liking the towel shapes!), Lynn, Susan and Amy!! I'm so glad the concept of 'towel surfing' appeals to more people than just me. As Rhonda says, it seems to tap into some "deep-seated ideas about holiday fun" and I love the idea that "towel surfing could well become the sea-side sport of choice for folk with active imaginations and bodies that don't like to be battered by wave-power!;-)" Thanks very much again!

rhondad...

rhondadesigns says: You have used the limited palette very effectively in this eye-pleasing abstract design, Su! This print would be great to use for beach-wear, whether the wearer was young or mature; active or indolent. The amusing title of your design seems to have tapped into some deep-seated ideas about holiday fun! In fact, I think towel surfing could well become the sea-side sport of choice for folk with active imaginations and bodies that don't like to be battered by wave-power!;-)

su_g

su_g says: Thanks so much Sylvie, Deborah and Shirley!! I like your "nice twist" Deborah - although it sounds a bit too energetic for anyong into serious towel surfing... And Shirley, I so laughed at the thought of having to give up surfing less it ruined your hairdo!! Thanks for that! Newcastle is still famous as a surf beach - except for when that ship accidentally turned up on it...

Posted over 2 years ago.

koalalady

koalalady says: When I got to a certain age I gave up actual surfing in favor of this kind as real surfing would have ruined my hairdo. The place was Newcastle- long, long ago.

su_g

su_g says: Thanks for the comments Alex, Hanna and Kelly! And yeah - this is definitely my kinda surfing! It's the first time I've tried a design like this - that explores using lots of different - but simple patterns - and I sure learned a lot, mainly how hard it is to do simple...

weaving...

weavingmajor says: so simple and fresh and bright - nice abstract and nice too as towels and surfboards! And I could do with some towel surfing myself right now, mmmmm! with a book and some iced tea, perhaps....
