Oh! This design is such fun - love it! Great use of the colour palette too :)
Thanks so much Shirley for your great comments - glad you're onto towel surfing too! Seems to have hit a nerve!
Yey for towel surfing- love it. Congratulations on the whole great idea and execution.
Thanks so much Deborah! That's so nice of you - I really appreciate it! And THANKS to everyone who commented, faved and voted for this design: I am really really happy that it came in at 32nd place (out of 169 fantastic designs that were entered) with 99 votes!
Congratulations, Su!!! Top 50. Woohoo!!! Fantastic design.
Thanks so much Jan, Angela, Rebel, Boo and Paula - what a great start to my morning! Very much appreciate all your great comments... So ok, I think it's getting pretty 'official' now - that 'towel surfing' IS a folk-sport - anyone for the next Olympics???
Funny and yes, my idea of surfing, very attractive designs!
Great design Su! Fun concept really well executed. The coordinates are great.
Towel surfing - yep, definitely the best kind of sport there is. Lovely design, all the patterns look great together.
My kind of surfing!
Haha! Towel surfing, that's my sport! Great concept, and a fun assortment of surfboards!
Thanks Tara - good to know 'towel surfing' hits the spot (it feels like there is a general appreciation of this as a little recognised folk sport...) and really appreciate your comments on the shapes and color use, thanks again!
Okay towel surfing made me chuckle! This is fantastic! The shapes you've created here are really nice. Love the way you used the colors too!
Thanks you all so much for your great comments Rhonda, Ceri (thanks for liking the towel shapes!), Lynn, Susan and Amy!! I'm so glad the concept of 'towel surfing' appeals to more people than just me. As Rhonda says, it seems to tap into some "deep-seated ideas about holiday fun" and I love the idea that "towel surfing could well become the sea-side sport of choice for folk with active imaginations and bodies that don't like to be battered by wave-power!;-)" Thanks very much again!
Su, this is just the coolest design.....love the title too, so funny!!!
The colors are fabulously put together. Lovely pattern!
Love the simplicity of this design, and the concept cracked me up!
What a brilliant concept. It could have been invented for me! Love the shapes the towels behind the boards make.
You have used the limited palette very effectively in this eye-pleasing abstract design, Su! This print would be great to use for beach-wear, whether the wearer was young or mature; active or indolent. The amusing title of your design seems to have tapped into some deep-seated ideas about holiday fun! In fact, I think towel surfing could well become the sea-side sport of choice for folk with active imaginations and bodies that don't like to be battered by wave-power!;-)
Thanks so much for all the nice comments Kim, Helene, Patty, Lisa and Sheila! So so helpful - and I love it how so many of us connect to the basic idea of towel surfing (thought it was just me!).
Looks great in yard view Su! I love your use of the palette - so bright and cheerful. Great patterns... one reminds me of a chocolate doughnut with sprinkles... maybe I am just hungry :) Good luck to you Su!
I like your use of all the different patterns, it really works well for your idea!
Fabulous Su! The patterns are a great use of the color palette, and the collection is fresh! :)
I love this graphic design and the collection is wonderful!!
Towel surfing, count me in! Not only a marvelous design but a smile worthy title and such clever images, balancing your design and giving it energy. Well, design energy. This is towel surfing after all :)) Best of luck,Su!
Thanks so much Sylvie, Deborah and Shirley!! I like your "nice twist" Deborah - although it sounds a bit too energetic for anyong into serious towel surfing... And Shirley, I so laughed at the thought of having to give up surfing less it ruined your hairdo!! Thanks for that! Newcastle is still famous as a surf beach - except for when that ship accidentally turned up on it...
When I got to a certain age I gave up actual surfing in favor of this kind as real surfing would have ruined my hairdo. The place was Newcastle- long, long ago.
Cool - all of it, each and every pattern you used for the boards.
Love this, Su, and your description made me laugh. Nice twist on the contest theme.
Oh Su! This is brilliant :-) Way cool design.. hehe
Thanks for your nice and helpful comments Vo and Tina - looks like I'm onto something with this towel surfing idea... relaxing at any rate!
That title is hysterical! The only kind of surfing I could do! I love all the simple shapes and patterns! So fantastic in the yard view! Love the collection too!
Great use of the palette Su!
Thanks for the comments Alex, Hanna and Kelly! And yeah - this is definitely my kinda surfing! It's the first time I've tried a design like this - that explores using lots of different - but simple patterns - and I sure learned a lot, mainly how hard it is to do simple...
so simple and fresh and bright - nice abstract and nice too as towels and surfboards! And I could do with some towel surfing myself right now, mmmmm! with a book and some iced tea, perhaps....
I love your colour palette Su, wonderful pattern variation on boards too!
Great idea! My kind of surfing ;-)
