photographic marbles in an endless repeat!
I've admired Karen Hart's marbles fabric ever since I joined Spoonflower. I wanted one that repeated without mirroring, so I finally did that.
There are several coordinates for this design here.
This fabric is also available in a Fat Quarter collection too: buy a yard, get a FQ of this design and a FQ of crayons, spirographs, and pencil-shaving polka dots!

thank you, Eclectic! Yes, I wanted to make a drawstring bag to hold the very marbles I scanned! (so many projects, so little time...)

That's so beautiful! It would be really cute made into a drawstring bag to hold assorted game pieces.
thank you everyone!

oh my goodness! Thank you Sueseact! I'm so delighted that my husband's childhood toys can become art for a national marble champion - now I'm excited too! I hope you would be willing to post or send a picture of it when it's done!
I spent an entire day looking for my marbles... THANK you and Janice for helping me. My grandson's mom was a national marble champion when she was a kid and they just got a house. I am going to make a framed piece for over the couch. I'm soooo excited that I found this!
ha ha! that's great, Anna! Thanks so much for posting the picture, the pillow looks like lots of fun! And thanks, Lori!

I made this pillowcase from Weavingmajor's marbles fabric, printed on sateen. It's really soft and nice to sleep on, though it looks like it's not... Thank you Weavingmajor for letting us order your fabric!

Very well done! Impressive repeat!

and thanks Karen (serenity ii) - my inspiration for this fabric! You can always redo yours if you ever want a regular repeat, so long as you have a program like Gimp that can do layers. Just cut your photo in quarters (each on a separate layer) and rearrange them reversed (top left corner goes to bottom right, etc) then overlap them by at least 3-4 marbles, preferably more, and use judicious erasing to take out the marble 'pieces' and reveal the whole marbles underneath. It takes patience and lots of 'undos', but other than that it isn't too hard.

BUT moving on to new designs is even MORE fun, if you're at all like me! ;o)
That's awesome. I couldn't think how to make the repeat happen when I made mine.
That's fun! Excellent repeat,as others have said.
hee hee! a marble floor!
Posted almost 6 years ago.
I'm probably going to have to redo my half bath floor. It's a pretty small room, Hhhhmmmm.
hee hee - there are some places where you can get your own design printed on vinyl flooring or carpeting. But no prices listed. (If you have to ask... eek!) Wouldn't that be fun though! Between spoonflower and these places, you could just about customize everything in your house!
Oooh, babysisterrae, I wonder if anyone does print your own vinyl flooring! I would love this on the floor. Can't you just see guest's faces when they first see it?
thanks everyone! ooh, baby blanket and rug would be fun...
and thanks so much sewing-cybermom! I can't wait to find out what you're doing!! It's so fun and exciting to be able to be a part of someone else's creative ideas - thanks!
Just ordered the marble fabric. I cannot wait to get this fabric....I have a great plan for it, and I cannot wait to share that either!!!
This is so fun - it begs to be used!
way cool. way fun.
really cool. this would be awesome rug or flooring.
This would make a really fun baby blanket. Can't you just see a little baby buried in marbles?
Regular repeat is so much better than mirror; at least for something like this.
Victoria - thanks! I borrowed the idea of marble fabric from Karen Hart - just I wanted one in regular repeat instead of mirrored.

Shin - thank you! I think I'll make a marble bag to store our marbles in! I'd probably make a tie if my hubby ever wore ties except to funerals, but... hmm.

Jillian - thanks so much!

Mona - thank you! I used a similar technique to Helen Klebesadel's - her tutorial is here. Mainly just selective erasing!
Wow! That is great! I don't even know how you'd get it to repeat so smoothly like that! Amazing!
So fun! Printed out really great!
so good. Will you make something with it?
Wowee, zowee. This came out great. Love the idea of marble fabric.
I'm pleased with how my marble fabric turned out - nearly indistinguishable from the marbles themselves!
