The proofed design is slightly smaller than this design. You can see the rotated smaller design, done for a tea towel, here

Thank you Catru. It's not in my kitchen yet; but I am thinking about using it. I haven't proofed this one; but I did proof one that is smaller, and turned the other direction so it would work as a tea towel. I will try to get a photo and post it soon. I was very happy with the way it turned out.

(it's in your kitchen? put pictures!!! curious girl here :D)
this one is soo wonderful! I love the colors too, looks great in yards :) that 2-heads snake is awesome, it gives a continuity to the design that I love
I'm thinking about using this in my kitchen. It would be a twist on the normal apples that are used so often (and are still in my kitchen from when we bought the house). I was going to use my wheat but now I'm not sure.

Well! This was "IT" in my book! I think the colored pencil texture will look wonderful on textured fabric! Great job and I do agree that most winners in Surreal this week are too Kawaii to be actually surreal - but I can be wrong... sometimes... well.... maybe... ;-)
Thank you inscribed here. I don't expect to do well. I think most people missed those fingers and the snake; and thought it was just apples on a tree. Or just didn't like it as a fabric.
Victoria, this is definitely one of the best designs I've seen in the contest this week. I've been slow to comment but I voted for you early. I love those twiggy fingers and the push-me-pull-you snake.
Thank you sarahb, ms corona, and puncezilla.
I didn't notice the double headed snake! This gets better each time I look at it! Amazing.
Amazing details I didn't notice the twiggy fingers until I had a second look. Very good work on this challenge!
Thank you so much, paragon studios one
I love all the mixed media you used and the endless snake is so surreal, You have real artistic talent
I made this a little bigger so you can see the twiggy fingers better. You can see the spider and web in the dead branch better too; but not that the snake is two headed.
Thank you ceanirminger; and I am quite sure that no design you would do, would be lame. And thank you again ms corona; please don't pass out standing on your head;. and don't turn the design over or at least two more fruits will fall!
Wow, Victoria! I took some time away from furiously trying to finish up on my fruit fabric to see what was up, and after seeing yours i'm not sure I should even finish! This is beautifully illustrated, a wonderful take on the theme, slightly sinister... it's just great. I'm going to go work on my lame idea now. Good luck!
Yes decobot! This designs secrets are revealed when the blood rushes to the brain! Try it (but, only if your chair has locking wheels!) I couldn't come up with anything for the surreal... my work is too... too... uh... well, not as sophisticated as this!
Thank you all, so, so much for your lovely, supportive comments. Paragon studios, it is entered in the Surrealistic fruit contest; it was done just for that.
Beautifully done Victoria! Love the colors and background texture, even the snake is perfect, those branches are scary! Are you doing headstands in your computer chair again ms_corona?
Fantastic take on the surrealistic fruit theme, great illustrations!
Have you looked at it upside down?????
Oh, wow, reading thru these comments on this design my eyes were opened to the TWIGGY FINGERS offering up FORBIDDEN FRUIT! This went way over my head - and I am tall! I thought this design would look ...better?... upside down and THAT is when I saw that single red apple that didn't fit in with the sway of the other fruit and it was glaringly obvious! You are soo clever! Good luck!
You have captured the essence of Surrealism with this design, Victoria. As well as being pleasing to the eye, it provokes the mind. Those twiggy fingers are so clever, but disturbing. What did I hear scratching on the window last night?
Victoria, What a wonderful design for surrealism, You must enter It's a winner!
Thank you vo.
Fabulous design Victoria.
Thank you lulakiti.
This is terrific!
