When I was little, and in primary school, we'd wear our boots to school, when it was wet or snowy (I grew up in England), and take our slippers to school to change into in the classroom. We used to each have a clothes peg with our name on, which we'd use to peg our boots together.
Of course, this was the sixties, and our boots were nothing like those that are available today. Today they seem to come in all colours and patterns - they're gorgeous!
I have a mauve pair, myself, now. A huge change from the old plain black ones! Or the black and orange ones my Dad used to have.
