I love all things natural; birds, fish, flowers, bugs, dirt, you name it! I love to create things with paint, paper and fabric, and I am delighted to be able to add surface fabric design to my list of joys.

This Science Fair participant has created a series of slides demonstrating the best way to stain for Trophozoites. Iodine gives a golden hue.
In a former life, I was a microbiologist. One parasite in particular holds my fascination, having been afflicted by it TWICE. That is Giardia lamblia, and it is the one that appears to have a smiley face in my design. (They really look like that)!

Thank you so much, Rhonda and Christine! One good thing about being infected with Giardia Lamblia - quick weight loss!!!! Now I am a much more careful camper.

You have created a fascinating and colourful design with a serious underlying message. So sorry to hear that you suffered such a dire affliction caused by these deceptively happy little blighters!
Oh I'm sorry to hear that as well...and you made them look so cute! Lovely colours!
Thank you, Tina! They call it "Beaver Fever" (because beavers carry the parasite), and most wilderness campers know enough to boil, filter or otherwise treat their water. But not me!
Such a clever design! Sorry to hear you have had it twice!
