Description:

Behold my FIRST Spoonflower Staff Challenge Entry for 2014! For this contest, we where provided some paper and general crafty items to put together. these items where disclosed to us at the moment we created the designs. For mine, I used stick glue, pencil, brown craft paper, white cardstock, wall paint color chips, duck tape, golden washers and white decals. I drew the large flower over the cardstock, cut bits and pieces of the paint chips and duck tape to decorate the flower, glued her to the craft paper, decorated the their other areas with pencil drawings, washers, and decals. For the repeat, I used the Half Drop button. For the Colors, I used the color changing tool for a little bit. Unfortunately the background has a noticeable shadow from the paper, this is something I was not allowed to fix but otherwise I am very happy with the outcome! I hope you enjoy this design!

rhondadesigns says: You have created an elegant design from the unlikely set of materials on hand for this challenge, Eloisa! The subtle shifts of tone in the brown background add a feeling of depth and textural interest to your design.

su_g says: Pretty! You did well! Loved reading your note on the process: shows how ordinary things can be used to make an out-of-the-ordinary pattern. Very motivating, especially reading the comments and how much fun you had! Best wishes for the contest!

victori...

victorialasher says: Very nice. I don't think you need to "fix" the shadow. To me, because it isn't a strong line down the entire length, it seems like part of the textural look of the background. It fits with the subtle changes in the background color caused by the slight waviness in the paper. If that makes sense.

natitys

natitys says: Thanks so much to all of you! Julie, I only wish I had been able to use Photoshop to fix that shadow in the corner! The background would look better, maybe I will even it out after the contest! Brittney, you're too kind! I agree with you, I'm in awe looking at what everyone was able to come up with in such a short amount of time, and without seeing what we would be using beforehand, this was definitely a lot of fin to make. After this was done, all the Spoonies {employees} who participated where walking around Spoonflower with sticky fingers, oh it was fun! Would do it over and over again!
