This is my contest entry in the Science Fair contest. All hand drawn digitally by me. I hope you enjoy my design and I thank you for taking a look!
Anyone remember these kits as a kid? I was so disappointed when they ended up being these little krill / tiny frilly shrimp-like things (boring!). I thought they would at least somewhat resemble the kitschy cute pink sea monkey illustrations on the box! The larger sea monkeys in the design looking at each other are what I would like Sea Monkeys to look like in Amy World....the others are kind of what they look like in real life.
This design is available as fabric, wallpaper, decals and gift wrap.
Please use rulers at top and side of view window to determine size / scale of design. Thank you!

Ya got my vote Miss Amy...this would make the most awesome mosaic in the world!!!
Katherine, you know me well.....it was a no-brainer, it HAD to be sea monkeys!!! LOL, thank you so much, dear Katherine!
Uh-oh, a sea monkey catastrophy! What a gip, Ceri! Believe me, they are totally unimpressive, you didn't miss much! Thank you so much for you lovely feedback, Ceri! :o)
Of COURSE you picked Sea Monkeys! I love it!
Lol Amy, we recently had a sea monkey disaster in our house when they didn't even hatch. I have a feeling they wouldn't have been half as much fun your science fair sea monkeys even if they had! Great design!
Thank you so much, Tara and Julie, it means so much coming from you talented girls! :o)
I like your sea monkeys Amy, the look a little mischievous and much more interesting than the traditional sea monkeys!
I love your sea monkeys so much! They are exactly how I wish they would have looked back in the day for me too. These two are too cute!
I agree, Celia......this is what I wished they had looked like!!!! Thanks so much for taking a look , I really appreciate it, Celia!!! ;o)
Amy, I love your sea monkeys! SO much cuter than the ones I saw on the back cover of ALL my Archie comic books when I was a kid.
Susan and Lisa, I love you girls, you just made my whole morning that much brighter....thank you so much!!!! Susan, they do still sell these crazy kits believe it or not! LOL, :o)
Amy I was REALLY looking forward to seeing what you would come up with for this contest, and I am not disappointed! Your imaginary Sea Monkeys have SO much charm and character! Love what you did with the background, too - it really feels as if we are looking through glass! Fantastic!
Creative, humorous and whimsical! See what you have done....now I am going to have to go buy a kit (do they still sell them) so my kids can have a go. FUN design!
I do too, Deborah. I think I ordered mine out of a magazine when I was a kid. Thanks for taking a look, Deborah...I really appreciate it :o)
So funny, Amy. I remember seeing ads for sea monkeys in the backs of comic books.
Thank you so much, Charlotte and Andrea....I'm so happy you like the sea monkeys! :o)
Love it, Amy! Great idea!

Thank you so much, Lynn....I had so much fun with this design, thank you for noticing all the little details, I really appreciate it! :o)

Thank you so very much, Jill, Sylvie and Christine.......I totally know what you mean, Christine! :o)
I love your illustrations!
Fabulous design, Amy ! Love their smiles and facial expressions !
To clarify: I was a "little child" in the early 80s...but I liked looking at my older brother's adventure-teen-mags. :) I still have them at my mom's place and the ads in there are priceless! :-))
Amy, you've created another piece of fun and whimsy here! I love the colours! Yes, I remember sea monkeys from ads in an early 1980s teen magazine with an adventure focus. One could mail-order sea monkeys that were drawn to look like little people. Imagine little children being promised that they could grow little people in a glass bowl - what child wouldn't want that?! Too bad they needed an adult (who would hopefully understand the scam) to do the ordering for them, hah! :)
Thank you so much, Tina....so glad u like them!
I love these sea monkey so much! And that background is fantastic! Beautiful colors too!
Thank you so much, Alex, I'm so glad u like my goofy sea monkeys!
You always manage to come up with something fab Amy!! This is really fun :o)
Haha!!! I knew some of you out there would remember these little goofy sea monkeys....trust me , Penny, you didn't miss much! Thank you so very much Penny, Lori, Shelly and therustichome!!!! :o)
Fun!!! Love their big smiles!
Oh yeah! How fun would it be to have a fish bowl full of these charming little pets! I really like the background too.
Oh so adorable, I love them Amy, you know I could never get them to grow anything, at least you got some kind of creature
I make a happy little sea monkeys!!!! thanks so much, dear Moira!
I agree with Rhonda - and they look like they are really enjoying themselves to boot!
Thank you, Rhonda.....I do believe they are a bit more exciting! Thanks so much for taking a look! :o)
Amy, your version of Sea Monkeys look so much more exciting than the tiny floaty things that emerge from the science experiment kits!!:-)
