This is my entry into the Women's Day Toile contest. I've drawn Simone de Beauvoir holding references, in turn, to her early work Pyrrhus et Cineas (she is holding the head of Pyrrhus), to the Vatican's List of Prohibited Books (Le Deuxieme Sexe was placed on this list), to Les Temps Moderne (the journal she edited with Jean-Paul Sartre and others), to her personal and professional relationship with Sartre (glasses) and to her signature on the Manifesto of the 343, affectionately known as "the Manifesto of the 343 bitches" (she's holding the word "salopes" in her other hand). Finally, she is wearing a list of her works.
