This is my entry for Spoonflower's Summer Flowers contest. I love the restricted palette, because within it lies my very favorite color combination: gray and yellow. (Yes!) Add a splash of turquoise and I'm in heaven. I was inspired by the pansies that are outside my (garden level) apartment, surviving through the summer heat wave here in Boston. The flower shapes got looser (and a bit Marimekko inspired), and were joined by some birdie buddies. I love a combination of geometric placement and loose, hand drawn elements, and after and evening of noodling, this patten was born. Hope you enjoy!
