I made a wall-hanging similar to this for my sister, with these cross-stitched tulips on it, and thought I'd like one myself, with just the tulips and a background of my favorite green. There is a line pattern like a quilting pattern drawn in the green squares. And there's a matching green fabric, with little cat and daffodil drawings, which could be used for backing. Normally a one-yard cheater quilt design for the quilting weight fabric, this is temporarily fat-quarter size, while I order a swatch.
