Bursts of poppies in the seldom-seen puppystooth cultivar (or, Papaver Puppystoothus, taxonomically) bloom in wheels of color...
Yep, you could piece and stitch this poppy pattern, then applique the little bees, but it would take a wicked heap of tiny scraps, right? Much better to start with this, and be sleeping like Dorothy under a soft cover of poppies in no time... (puppystooth patterns in honor of Toto, of course)!
The 14" x 14" quilt block (150 ppi for the contest) gives you three full blocks at the Basic Combed Cotton, Kona, or Poplin width of 42"
(Colors in this collection limited to the palette designated for the spring floral cheater quilt contest.)

I agree with Jill! There is wonderful movement in your lovely design! Fabulous repeat too! This would make a beautiful quilt!
I love the colours and movement in this pretty design.
Love this to bits! It is FABULOUS!
Thank you, Rhonda! Thank you, Lana! It's wonderful to hear such lovely comments from accomplished quilters! (And yes, Rhonda - there were lots of tricky 11.25-degree and smaller calculations!)
This really pretty, you have done so much work in this design. The details are wonderful. I can see a quilt made out of this.
Yes, the thought of appliqueing all of those tiny bees would be so daunting that most people would never dream of attempting to do it! Using your beautiful, thoughtfully constructed, cheater quilt takes away the need for tricky geometry. Two yards of this design printed on the sateen would give you enough printed fabric to make a large sized quilt. Once quilted, it would look stunning! By the way, I love all of the intricate details that you have used to adorn this pretty charmer! :-)
Eleanor, Ceri, Heather, and Shelly... I'm delighted that you like it, and I'm honored by your wows and good wishes! Thank you all so much ! :)
Absolutely beautiful! I love it!
