Pioneer women never threw away fabric scraps. The smallest pieces were sewn into 1 inch "postage stamp" quilts, each piece only the size of a stamp.
This cheater quilt has daisy squares which are 1 inch each square. You can quilt around each square or around a nine-patch area of squares for quicker stitchin! There is a slightly wider white border around each 9 squares (9 patch area).

This is so pretty! Love the idea of a postage stamp quilt.
8x8 inch swatch of 'Daisy Postage Stamp' . The blue in the restricted palette of the Spring Floral Cheater Quilt contest matches my dried larkspur on Larkspur Hill perfectly.

Thank you, Su!!
This is so pretty! Every time I see it, it catches my eye and I have meant to comment before, so glad to have the opportunity now, as I hadn't realised the postage stamp size - a fantastic idea for a quilt (altho' I like your time saving idea of quilting around larger blocks too). The other colorways are quite gorgeous too!
Thanks so much, Shirley! I don't know how I came up with the color scheme on this design...it just sort of happened when I was playing with spoonflower color choices for the contest. If you would like to send me your address in a private message, I will send you a box of pretty dried flowers from my garden! Cindy :)
Cindy,I love simple designs whenever I get the urge to quilt . This would suit me fine. I am in awe of your choice of these two colors,I would never have thought of it! I remember now I didn't answer some time back your question- did I have a garden? I am sorry to say I do not as we ahve moved to a retirement village and had to cut right back on garden activities due to some difficult medical problems. I get to enjoy everyone elses without the work however and have no hesitation in asking to photograph whatever I see around. me.
Thank you, Rhonda! I think I just might have time to make a cheater quilt with all these pretty spoonflower choices!! :) Cindy :)
You have created a beautiful Daisy Postage Stamp quilt pattern, Cindy! The subtle textures in the background are superbly well-done! This is a design that speaks to my hoarder's heart! I follow the tradition of old-time quilters; of keeping all my scrap pieces because you just never know where they might be used!
Thank you, Jill!! Cindy :)
This is a really great design. Your use of Chartreuse works brilliantly in the design too. Lovely! :-)
This is my entry for the spring floral cheater quilt contest. :) A postage stamp quilt is a time-consuming, precision-required project...but not with this cheater quilt! This would be the easiest 1 inch square postage stamp quilt you could make.
