Is the kitchen life getting you down these days? Are you harried and besplattered with any number of food stuffs that you have been preparing? Well, sit down sister and listen to what I'm about to lay on you. It's your very own parliament of owls! (yep, that's the real name of a group of owls.) This veritable hoo's hoo of wise guys are sure to bring a wild hootenany right into your kitchen, keeping you spic and span in the process! This collection of feathered flung food fighters (complete with a couple of intr-hooters) will catch any drippings, scare away the mice from your linen cupboard, and turn on any stray handsome ornithologists that might find their way into your domicile. So drop that ratty old rag you call an apron and tie one on with the hippest hooters in the house!

ceanirm...

ceanirminger says: Ha! That's great ingermaaike! Thank you so much for your support, and I'd love to see that skirt! Creative crafters make me so envious! And thank you, Punkin3_14! This apron is designed so that 1 pattern fits on 1 yard of fabric, so any size above one yard will get you multiple aprons, but a fat quarter only gets you a quarter of the design. Thanks again for your lovely comments!

punkin3_14

ceanirm...

ceanirminger says: I'm sure you are going to be the most awesome seamstress ever, eqhl_2005! I have one coming and I can't sew one bit, so I'll probably have to use mine for a dishtowel. So far everyone except maybe 5 people has ordered the quilting weight cotton, but second most popular was the organic sateen, way way behind. I'm thrilled to hear you got your apron, Phoebe! You were the very first to order it, so everyone else listen up, the owls are loose and coming your way!

ceanirm...

ceanirminger says: hi everyone! first, thanks for all of your awesome interest and comments on my apron. I'm sure that was my fifteen minutes of "fame" and I enjoyed ever minute! I also wanted to tell anybody who was interested in ordering an apron that the pattern only works on a yard. I've had a few orders for fat quarters which will actually be a pretty useless piece of fabric (a pocket, half the instructions and a quarter of the skirt). I talked to the awesome Spoonflower people and they are contacting all of the people to notify them so they can cancel their orders and reorder a yard if they so choose, but I just wanted to put the alert out there and save some hassle down the road. Thanks again for all of the support and for making my week!

Posted over 6 years ago.

victori...

Posted over 6 years ago.

ceanirm...

ceanirminger says: Thanks so much, everybody! You are all the best! And yes, Lulakiti and Dollproject. That is a sloth. I have a bit of an obsession with those pokey varmits. I think it's the totally zen look on their faces, or the fact they are covered in moss and only pee when it rains. They are the kings of passive camoflauge and that's how one snuck onto my apron without my notice.

Fantastic description, as always. I love the way the owls around the "misfits" are looking askance at them. I'd probably not want to cover any of them with the pockets. I'd maybe make a pot holder or something with them instead, except that the marks for where they go are on the design. I guess if anyone wanted to buy it that way you could adapt it.

ceanirminger says: hi all, since I don't officially know how to sew, I'm leery about how well I've translated the instructions for this apron, and If the parts I've added make any sense. The pattern is based off a 1951 free apron pattern from TipNut.com. Here is the link http://tipnut.com/ripply-apron-pattern-vintage-1951/ so if you speak sewingnese you should have no problem understandning this and making a kick tail feather apron!
