A couple of years ago I had a friend visit for a few days during a full moon. We watched the moonrise over the trees in my backyard and I mentioned that that only thing I found more beautiful than moonlight through the summer leaves was moonlight on the water.
"Can't be as beautiful as in the movies."
"Better," I sighed.
"No way!"
"Way."
She looked at me skeptically and I smiled.
"Get in the car."
A few minutes later we were standing at the harbor.
"Oh, yes," she breathed. "MUCH better."
I wish I could really capture what we saw that night. For better or worse, this is as far as my digital skills will take me at this point.
