The Doctor will see you now. Part of the Synergy0011 Challenge: Doctor. Naive style in chalk on paper. © Su Schaefer 2013
The Doctor will see you now: a quirky and humorous design in a naive style to rise to the Synergy Challenge: Collection Synergy0011 (Doctor) (see below). One of a planned series playing on the ideas of which doctor or witch doctor... and illustrating those common phrases we hear so often around doctors.

Thanks so much Susan - I seem to have a thing with masks at the moment and developing these "which doctor or witch doctor" designs has been a lot of fun!

What a lively piece!
Yes I see the worry in the background Sue Ellen! You've said it so well... and have given me several new ideas - thanks for that, very much appreciated!

Somehow you've managed to capture the worry in the background: yes, I'm next on the doctor's schedule, but will the doctor really SEE me, and then be able to help unravel the knot I've got caught in?
Weird or not: proofing swatch on basic combed cotton (daylight photo).

Moira Rae, thanks so much for your comment on the idea of this one, so helpful to know that it works for you (sometimes I worry that my imagination is really too weird...)!
Brilliant idea - great title!
Thanks so much Deborah and Shirley, and Shirley, I totally empathize - and I'm glad you'd prefer the witch Dr :-)
I am at a stage where anything to do with a Dr scares me. At the same time if one has to see one I would be happy enough with the witch Dr:-) Very descriptive piece and very clever.- as is Rhonda's comment.
Rhonda is right. This design is so clever and it will appeal to a wide audience. Well done, Su.
Oh Rhonda - you crack me up! That is the most interesting analysis I have ever read! And I love the subtlety of your reading! Thanks so much for bringing your poetic way with words to bear on this design!!!
Thanks so much for your great comments and feedback Kelly, Catherine and Sue Ellen, very much appreciated!
With great subtlety you have managed to convey the impression of the many and varied ailments that may cause us to visit a doctor. At the same time, the motifs are sufficiently abstract to be viewed appreciatively by someone who had no idea of the underlying medical problems besetting these "patients". You have done a brilliant job on this design, Su!
All that humor and word play, and it's PRETTY, too!!!
love this :)
fun design - I love the blue-line background - and a great take on the 'doctor' theme!
