Velocette is the name given to motorcycles that were made by Veloce Ltd, in Hall Green, Birmingham, England, from 1913 to 1971. Offered here is a 1952 advertisement for their water cooled and shaft driven model LE 200 motorcycle. At the time the same $615 this motorcycle cost new, could buy you a decent (say 5 years old) used car. The ad touts it as silent, clean, and comfortable, which it may well be. But I have my doubts about it giving "excellent weather protection." If it is raining, you are going to get very wet. Even Sheherazade couldn't really walk between the drops. (file f201, #2406199)
